The Nosler 22 uses a case with the parent being the 6.8spc but the big difference is the rim is the same size as the .223 Remington. No major bolt change would be necessary and the case could be worked many ways -- neck up to 6mm, leave it at 22 but shorten it -- maybe a 20 or 17 caliber or use the case diameter for one great big bullet. Just a thought for something different -- and they fit in AR-15 mags.

Ya know, that one just left me scratching my head..... Why rebate the rim instead of using 6.8 Brass? Most AR people I know don't have an issue with building a complete upper, but, Nosler can do what it wants, its their money. Just seems a huge investment in tooling for brass could have been eliminated.... Maybe it was a licensing thing somehow...
The 6.8 brass makes great 30 Herrett!

I'm planning to make a modernized 9x39 using 22 nosler brass. it's basically a 357 herrett with a shorter neck and case length. Then I spun up a Cherry to make a bullet mold which came out to 325gr! I don't need a stronger case head as it will be run subsonic exclusively and only with said cast bullet powdercoated. Just recently got me a mini mill so I may try my hand at making a chamber reamer.

You ROCK buddy! Thats some nice stuff. 325gr of goodness!!!!
We used std 6.8 brass for our 30 hARrett.
Try making a D reamer 1st, much easier and will cut a couple of chambers.
