As I've pointed out in other posts, I have been using Battle Tested Equipment adjustable gas blocks. I hope things are well with George, but I, and others, have not gotten any response from him / them recently. So, he's either like me, ooc, or busy, or..... So I ordered more gas blocks from X and they aren't here yet. I've had them on the drawing board and we made two versions before of the quad rail std and quad rail high. Here is a std with the built in "end cap" for 2 pc hand guards and one without the end cap... I don't care for them in pistol or less than pistol locations, plus the quad rails are way too bulky in my opinion.... , so I set up Big Blue for low profile adjustable gas blocks. First run came off today and I'll tweak things tonight for another run tomorrow. Stay tuned....

Here is the trial run with aluminum blocks. Once I get the jigs and tooling right, we'll switch to steel blocks. I made two of the blocks set up for straight gas tubes for the less than pistol set ups.

Knocked out a few for test purposes so will get them drilled and tapped, tubed, and mounted.

Got a batch done for program testing and machine run out. Big Blue still gets it done! I did this set in aluminum and will see how easy it is to strip out the threads for the set screws. Next step is to test the 30 Carbine mag set up. I didn't add the gas adjusting screw, I'll do that on a couple others for testing. The BTE method works for .750" but is getting real thin for .875" so these aluminum blocks prob won't handle it. The barrel is one of my Blaster Barrels I started years ago. I wanted to try and knock out barrels on a production line and get the cost down. I prep them, centering off the bore (time and money), do prep cuts (more time and money), and then load them in the cnc and push the button. The barrel is set up for three gas block journals. A 750 carbine (can take 2pc HG's) , an 875 pistol, and a .936 Tokarev. The thought was to profile a universal pistol barrel and then chamber and port to suit. Fast fwd a few years and the mass producers are offering barrels for $100, or less..... Side note: I bought a couple $79 black out barrels for deconstruction one time, what crap. Rifling looked like it was done with 40 grit.... Now I'm at the shop and I've got some of these blanks here and I start chambering them and realize, I just don't like the universal look. But, if the price was right? What do you think?

On the barrels, if the barrel is going to be under the forearm who cares what it looks like. Only the customer!
