I don't know if I should tell you all this before I get paid and get mine ordered, but in case any of you "alternative caliber" afficianado's are interested, Midway has their Stoner 50 beowulf barrel and bolt combo's on sale. Now don't go and buy them all up before I get one!

That sure will make an impressive AR -- what do you plan on hunting with that? Nothing really, I hunt with bolt guns (or a 45-70 lever) but it will make a nice companion to my 458 SOCOM upper

The guy I got my 50 Beo from said it, "Rolls Black Bears very nicely." And I can attest that it drops Whitetails in their tracks, too

I have it on good authority that it is a fine short to medium range moose round as well, and I know first hand that is works really well on pop cans, rocks and feral cinder blocks.

Well I "pulled the trigger" on a 16" beo barrel, now I have to decide on a "mid length" hand guard set up. You guys have any favorites ? Wish I could find the tail stock to my lathe.... sucks losing stuff like that when you move .... I got barrels to build, and evidently a non standard size Muzzle device/ thread protector.

Yep, something like 49/64ths. Search Beyond 5.56 forum, should be on there. Plus info on the "glue" that was used to hold the FH in place. I have a full length rifle ff on mine.

the thread is .765"x20 I was considering building custom "muzzle device" or possibly finding something beefy for a .308 and re-threading it though I might just turn a small thread protector cap and call it good ... I really don't need a "Blast amplifier" and I don't usually find a "low pressure" cartridge to be very effective through a brake anyway.

Save for the gas block, the "fiddy" upper is complete. Range report after the USPS brings my final part.

Yay, Mail came today while I was at work Here is the Beo still needs optics and a muzzle device. yes I know that is a Carbine FF and yes I know it looks odd, but it is a borrowed Fore end, until I get paid again and get the 11" troy trx extreme on it.
