Got a call from a customer in AK and he said he pulled some surplus rounds and stuck some 30 cal sabots w/55gr .223 bullets. Said it sounds like a 22 and hits the black at 200 yards all day long. Has to load them kind of deep and has not tried a stack of them in a mag yet, but action cycles on his blow back system. (Blow back adapter works great too )
Tim That is why we like you always the salesman..... LOL
Before I get to test I will send back for the magazine issues. Then party down and work up a round Is this sexy or what? My first dummy setup with a tok case and sabot with 80 grain Hornady .223 bullet.

The 80 grain feeds with a std AR 5.56 magazine , but the sabot/bullet has to be set in deeper (near the slots ) as it got stuck on the rifling and would not eject or we would have to throat the chamber. Setting deeper is a better idea at least for now.
I think its going to come down to seating depth. Quickload is showing 2200 fps with 10 gr of AA#7 or 8.5 gr of #5, w/55gr sabot at 1.690" oal. Going to need a fast powder. If they have to be seated to std OAL there doesn't show any improvement in vel.
