what kinda of system are you running? Blowback, DI what? not sure how well my loads with work in other systems as I load to achieve gas pressures at my gas port first, then velocities and accuraucy is adjusted and dialed from there......but if a powder will not give me my need port pressures, I don't try it......gotta love Quick load.

most things ive read say the pph is 1:9 so i dont think it would hurt but with a little more velocity from a 16in barrel makes me wonder. my rifle is a di with a super short gas system(thanks tim).

Loaded up a few toks with 10 - 12 gr of AA#9. I've got a new chronograph on my Christmas list so we'll see if Santa listens.. Haven't done any velocity checks since summer...
The AA load really wakes up the Tokarev and had to tone down the gas system a bit.

Start with 10gr of H110 and 90 - 110 gr bullets and go up from there. 12gr is a good load. Reduce for the 150 and work up.

Thanks.
Also would like to try CFE BLK and AA1680, waiting for the Heavy Metal barrel to come in.
Break break: I use Sinclair bump gauges on other calibers, set shoulder back 3 to 5 thousandths. My read of Tokarev drawings shows that case has a 16 degree shoulder. Sinclair offers a 17. Close enough? Or am I chasing a squirrel?

AA1680 will not get velocities high enough to match Warsaw Pact military surplus with Hornady 90gr XTP. Back to H110, and I'll save the AA1680 for heavier bullets. Working upward from 10gr. Using small rifle primers versus small pistol, PPU brass.
Commercial PPU 85gr FMJ is not enough to cycle the action. WP ball cycles well, MV 1900fps, empties fall at 5:30. Any bullet over 125gr cycles the action even with weak MV, brass at 4:30.
The Sinclair 20-degree bump gauge seems to give repeatable results, I need to bump shoulder to .670". Cases come out of the carbine with shoulder pushed forward to .678 or so.

110grain Sierra FMJ RN (M1 Carbine) bullets and 13.5gr H110 get to 1865 fps with 16" barrel, DI gas system, CCI400 primers. 130gr Speer HPs, 12.0gr H110: 1600fps.
I will tweak for seating depth on both and keep looking for sweet spots.

14.1 gr H110 with the 90 Hornady XTP gets 2025 fps. 85gr PPU HPs get slightly less MV (.3065 diameter). Have to re-run PPU commercial, it now cycles. Am now using a reduced-weight bolt carrier: www.righttobear.com/rtb-ar15-lightweight-carrier-black-nitride-carr-sbn16-lw-co/
Shoulder bump is now about .674". Very few cases are elongating. Out of ~300 I've had to trim only 8.
and Strike Industries collar adjustable gas block.

Great info Fyooz,
H110 or similar burn rate is good for the Tok due to low case volumes.
