Yep, nice looking rig! There is also the 19 Badger out there based on the Carbine case. So far, don't see an easy way out of this one. 3000 fps 32gr VMax 13.7gr of 4227 w/16" brl

Holy cow, am I seeing that drawing correctly -- the bullet diameter is .204"? 3000 fps out of a 16" barrel is really nice.
I thought the 19 badger actually used an odd sized bullet and therefor the name "19" badger. I thought a 20 caliber or, to make it sound more military, a 5mm caliber would be a nice combination of small size but something with weight. That drawing shows a round with a fairly nice shoulder for auto feeding. 20 caliber might be a bit easier to form. I always have a hell of a time doing the 17 caliber necks when making stuff up out of other brass.

That's a .20 Carbine dwg from Quick Design.......... That looks good! The 17 caliber stuff is nice if you want velocity but I believe that the 20 is a good combination between the 17 and the 22.

Dave Manson said design parameters are whatever I wanted, he's got to build the reamer anyway.... Need to find out what bullets are available to max out dimensions. Of course, Garin probably has this done already....

On his published on-line load info he lists a 30gr, 35gr and a 40gr. They look like a 30gr Berger, 35gr Hornady and a 40gr Sierra and something I can't place. seems like a good spread of bullets for the small cartridge.

Looked on the Sure Strike website and $147 for a reamer and $240 for forming and reloading dies. Tried to use the Contact Us form but it didn't show up. Will try later when I have some more time.

I'm not sure about this but I seem to remember reading on another site that the 20 Garin cartridge case needed the neck turned to work with the Garin chamber. Neck turning is not fun -- at least not for me -- you might want to check with Paul Garin to see if this is correct before you spend any money.

Just thinking -- If you did get the 20 Garin reamer you could, after chambering the barrel, maybe ream the neck an extra .002" more than the diameter of the unturned cartridge neck. I don't know if this would help if you were really planning on doing the 20 Garin as a project. The cartridge might work nice in an AR setup using your M1 carbine magblock and and M1 carbine mags.

Too busy reloading 9mm......... I can understand that -- especially if it's to be used to test the piston 9mm setup.

Have a customer asking for an M1 Carbine adapter to run in his 45 Win Mag he is building. Just finished the ACP so will do this one next and verify function. OH, got a 256 Win Mag reamer for Christmas! Must have been a good boy ;D

Got a batch of Taiwan made Carbine magazines and look just like most of the Korean ones. Tried loading some of the long nose 22 RE into the carbine mags but the follower does not like it too well and doesn't support the short case. Got the 45 cal blank on the bench waiting to do a 45 Win Mag to see how the mags work with that.
