Getting ready to put some stock on the machine for the 30 Carbine adapters. This is going to be a fun round Sure would like to see one of those adapters in a lower with a magazine in place. Are these adapters going to be the type that drop in from the top or go into the magwell from the bottom?

Our adapters go in through the bottom. Working on the mag release system. Test fired some rounds this morning with a carbnie gas system. Doing the same Blackout port / velocity dance..... sub? super?..... sub? super?....

If and when I could afford an M1 carbine setup in an AR I'd just be shooting milsurp, factory and reloaded ammo at the standard velocity. Are you going to use the AR magazine catch to hold the magwell adapter in place?

Just finished off some "factory" reloads this morning and function was just fine. Going to the city tomorrow to pick up some 9x23 and will see if they have any 30 Carbine loads to do the real factory test. The carbine adapters will be held in place by the AR mag catch. We've designed a couple other methods but found that people don't want to change parts, drill their stuff, or have a dedicated lower when a stock one will do. The adapters will have a separate carbine mag release, similar to the Tok mag adapters.

I was just thinking that maybe a small removable tab or claw at the rear of the magwell adapter would allow the adapter to be installed from below and the claw added to act as secondary retainer in case the AR mag release button was pushed in error.

Does that little silver clip hold the magazine in place even if the mag release button is pressed?

Yes, fits in the little slot at the front of the trigger guard / mag well. Most users complained that they had to pull the adapter out so I just stopped putting them on...........

On a magwell adapter I had made, I used a small cap screw and metal strip that was mounted where the red square is in the picture below. The metal strip was long enough that it would extend from the screw on the adapter to the flat area on the lower and the screw was tightened down. The metal strip acted as a claw and would not allow the adapter to come out. If you wanted to take the adapter out you just loosened the screw, turned the metal strip away from the flat area on the lower and the adapter could be slipped out I don't know if it's something that might work for you or not.

Hey give it a try! The other ones worked, do you want one? I've got a stack of them.

I like your idea of the external magazine release so the M1 Carbine magazine doesn't need to be modified to work with the AR release.

Picked up some factory 30 Carbine ammo yesterday in the city... "But those are hunting rounds!" Where did I put that AIM flyer?......... Will do some chrono work and go from there. New reamer is on order and will do another brl with pistol gas system for reference. Should be able to start cutting adapters next week.

Remington 110gr SP would function through a stock mag and our carbine set up IF I put in my super light buffer/spring set up in. Will open up the port a bit more for reference while the pistol system is in the works. Definitely need to tweak the barrel extension a bit more for the SP rounds and get the adapter in the works.
