Now that we have the M1 Carbine mag set ups going, I'm going to take this back to the range with me and play around some more. I'm sure the bullet selection hasn't changed, but with a cheap mag set up available, it might be worth playing with.

Dug out the 256 Win Mag stuff and set up the bench. Then I grabbed a couple of the new 357 ARMag cases to run through the sizing die..... Hit them with some sizing wax and Presto, one pass in my little Lee loader. Next step to try some reloads. Goal is to keep things under 1.69" oal for the new M1 Mags so that limited us to the 60gr cast and 60gr JFN. Loaded up the cast to 1200 fps and the JFN to 2100 (per QL) We'll see when we do testing.

Nice day for the 256 Win Mag. The 60gr cast loads fed 100%, but did not cycle the action (as expected). The 60gr JFN on the other hand worked fine once I swapped to an empty buffer. We still have some power to go on the reloads, so we'll step them up a bit more and do more Mag testing. Using the M1 Carbine mag set up, feeding was excellent!

I was wondering when the M1 carbine inserts would be ready? I'm more interested in one for the 22TCM but wouldn't mind having a rimless 256 either.

Looking at the amount of views on this 256 Win Mag page I'm surprised we haven't built more of these. Then I thought to myself...."Self, anyone who has a 256 Win Mag doesn't want to have to make rimless brass. You need to make it run with 256 Win Mag ammo...."

Got the upper out and going to do some testing with the 256. And, looking for another blank to try something out.
