I just have to ask -- with the inrush of people wanting to get into the 300 whisper type round with the introduction of the 300 Blackout, a new commercial version of the 300 whisper, will you maybe be doing barrels, gas systems, uppers, etc.

Let's see how things shake out on this 300aacblackout.com/300 Whisper is commercially available as well as dies and loading data. Remingtons AR30, while a non-223 case is not setting the world on fire. The 7.62x40 has generated a lot of interest also, but like everthing, passion and demand will drive the business. What I have seen in my limited exposure to the Blackout is the open nature of the developer, Advanced Armament, here's my data, have at it. and let's not forget the standard cartridge wars...... I wonder, if the 30-30 was stuffed into an AR, would it instantly become an "effective" hunting round? 30HRT (Herrett Rimless) fits. The 30-30 seems to be the poster child for "not enough" and now that we have an AR that pushes a 120gr bullet at 2300 fps we have the solution? Don't get me wrong, I applaud every one that has put their heart and soul, not to mention $$$$$, into their work, it's what drives advancement. Take the 30 Wisp for example. No useful purpose what so ever compared to available factory rounds. I did it because I wanted to. When I looked at the 30 Wisp (7.62x30) and said "what would make this perfect? (for the AR)", my answer was to make it 35mm and run it at 55ksi. Good Luck AAC! Interesting post: www.co-ar15.com/forums/showthread.php?p=247449

yeah, I read that post already. it is just a end run around the 300 whisper trademark. the guy doing the 7.62x40 is sitting on his and not letting it out just like JDJ......this will be nice once it does get Saami approval. I am thinking this with the same length piston system I am running for the Tok conversion would be perfect (in between pistol and carbine), and with the POF system, I can use the gas plug to adjust from subsonic to full pressure loads.......Eventually I may eventually get around to doing one.......

I guess the reason I asked is I like rounds that don't take a lot of powder to run -- kinda economical. The very long neck area helps to support the bullet and have a good grip on the bullet. The case head is standard for the AR and brass can be made from 223 brass. It's not a big boomer -- kinda like an intermediate round. I was thinking it could be the next step after the 7.62X25 mini-whisper type round. By the way -- the picture below is some of the new rounds for the new barrel setup. Nosler 125gr bullet over 9.5gr of #9 and COL or 1.70"-- primer is CCI 450. Starline 30 mauser brass with a slight neck crimp to keep the bullet in place when the AR bolt drives the stuff home. Velocity may be 1700fps but I don't have a chrony so who knows.
