I've been shooting the DI setup I got from HM and it's really accurate with both commercial ammo and handloads. I decided I didn't want to be shooting the milsurp stuff in the DI upper so I'm putting my 8 year old blowback setup back together. It was originally a 9mm that I changed the barrel on and made my own magblock. back when I built this there were no magblocks for PPS-43 mags so I had to make one. The buffer is a standard heavy 9mm buffer. These are the parts -- is this a simple design or what! I believe HM is thinking about making blowback's and since they already know how to make magblocks it should be a really nice deal.

Got it all back together and shot it -- runs like a champ. Yes, it does have more recoil than a DI operated system but I feel it's a heck of a lot easier to clean after shooting a ton of milsurp ammo. I'd like to see HM build a version -- or at least the barrel and magblock for those that already have a 9mm and want to try a conversion.

Working on the mag adapter and 2 versions of uppers. Colt/RRA style and something a little different.

I've got both systems, a blowback and a HM made DI operated setup. I like both but for different reasons. As I said earlier, I feel the blowback is easier to clean so I'll shoot milsurp in it although it does a great job with commercial ammo also. The DI is what I like for playing with handloads -- it is way more flexable. For people that just want to shoot, the blowback is a good choice especially if you already have a 9mm and you might want to make a change.
