I've had a 10mm blank on the lathe for a while and didn't know whether to do a Tok port, Piston port, or what, so I'm going with the Tokarev shorter than pistol port set up and that's that..... I've been doing most of my reloading while down south for my Delta Elite trying to find some powders that work and I think I've come to the conclusion that my chronograph isn't right as my low numbers are low and my high numbers are high..... We'll get it set back up in the test stand with the lights and see what happens.
For the AR, the blank is a 10" so I put together another pistol lower.

What magazine does the 10mm fit well in that will work in the AR? It's just me but I don't want to spend the money on an SBR stamp so does the 10mm work OK in a 16" barrel? Would the extra barrel length require the gas port to be moved out to the pistol length position?
By the way, is that piston system your design and does it work with the 9mm?

I use Tok mags and you can get 10 to 20 of them in there. The 10mm won't quite work in a 45acp uzi mag.... I got started on the 10mm working over an old Rhino piston set up. I haven't done much with them after my big run with the 9mm stuff so this one is going to be a Tok port and be done with it.

I for one would love to have a gas operated 10mm upper.

I second that, I just hope I can afford one. I bet you are using a 6.8SPC bolt, they look to me that they are close enough to work.

Yes, the 6.8 bolt face is good. The PIA is the extractor work.

How much ammo do you need? But then shipping would take time and money? I reload 10mm anyway.

All you can spare of course, and then some!
Thanks, but I've got plenty to do till I pick everything up next week.

Took a break from work to get some testing done and needless to say, I didn't do enough work on the 10mm extractor.
As you can see, the bolt won't let go of the 10mm case. We had the same issues with the 357Sig stuff. I need to massage the extractor some more so the case just rolls off the rim. We also need to "de-claw" the barrel extension lugs at 2:00. You can see the fired case where the ejector pushes the case into the back of the sharp lugs and bounces 2-3 times on the way out. This also causes undo drag on the BCG, a big factor in 9mm and 45 acp stuff. We'll get the extractor worked over back at the shop and test again. The pistol went bang, the BCG cycled, the Tok mag set up worked, so the set up will run.

Great, you heard Oly is closing? You just may be the only place to get a 10mm AR. I would think a 16" would be more fun for me. What about lowering the ejection port a little, in the picture it looks like it doesn't like to climb over the lower edge of the port?
Keep it up, I'll start putting money away for one. Paul

No, its not the port, its 100% the extractor geometry. As for Oly, there's not a lot of love being shown on the net...... its sad how innovation and legacy can get erased so fast.
