Got a 1:12 twist barrel in the lathe. Had a nagging tail stock issue I finally went after and got that out of the way. Will get another TCM going

Got 1:12 and 1:14 twist blanks in for the next run of 22 TCM / 22 Uzi barrels. It will take me a day to unpack and unwind but should be able to start cutting barrels in a day or so. Most people are opting for the Tok mag set ups and 1.38" oal which lets you run a real short 50 gr bullet and under. Some of the very long 40 & 45's are a bit long, especially the polymer tipped ones. Started an experiment with the M1 Carbine set up yesterday before I left so "hopefully" I can spend some time on that while I'm here.

Been getting calls for stainless barrels so ordered some more blanks in 1:12 and 1:14 for the 22 class uppers, the TCM, Reeds Express, and the new 22 Uzi.

Doing a full bull barrel 20" Stainless for a customer and it looks great. I'm going to have to do one for me one of these days. I am going to knock out a couple of pistol lengths so we can test the new 22TCM Long version for those that load over the 1.38" Tok length. I've got some super fast 1:7 twist short blanks, maybe a subsonic TCM?

Got notice that the new blanks will be delivered today. I'm still tempted to do one is a fast 1:7 and see what the 75g+ bullets would do. Been getting a lot of questions on the TCM lately, specifically related to running in Glock lowers. DON'T DO IT: This means running in blow back operation and I always let people know that is not a good idea. You need to think of the 22 TCM as a 30 carbine, not a 22LR. I have done blow backs in the TCM, however..... this was all for reloaded rounds and to keep the system operating smoothly we needed to run at about 50% reduced loads. The 1st TCM barrels we did was for XXXXXXXX in blow back and testing proved this was not a good idea. They wanted them anyway and also concluded that this was not a good idea. "Well, what about the 9R? It will fit in a 9mm mag." Yes it will but its the same round with a smaller bullet. The locked breech recoil of a 1911 or Glock is much different that the straight blow back of a 22LR or an AR blow back. You need to trust me on this, been there, done that, separated that case head..... Let me put this in a little different perspective: The 762x25 Tokarev in standard blow back is brutal in an AR. Hell, the 9mm has a bad rap for beating up guns. As a comparison, the Tok has to run a less than pistol port in a gas gun where the TCM runs in pistol port location just fine. What does that tell you about pressures? "But doesn't your 22 Uzi and 30 Uzi run high pressures in blow back?" Yes they do. But with the MODRAB system.... totally different animal. (and I'll do one in 22 TCM also... ) 22TCM in blowback? Please don't do it.

I'm going to load up and post some loads for those who wish to run blow back mode with dedicated lowers. As stated above, I don't think that is a good idea unless you know the limitations. 3 gr of bullseye and 30 gr spritzer is quite fun.

Worked with a modified M1 Carbine mag set up for the shorter 22 TCM today after making up a special follower set up for a Pps-43 mag spring. We need to get some more geometry cleaned up and put some more power into our reloads to do some more testing and see if we can get these parts out there. The BHO is very nice feature.

Tim, I was wondering if after you got set with a 22 TCM you liked you might try getting into a 20 TCM and a 17 TCM? I have a 17 Reed Express that shoots great but that's an old round I did years ago. Could be a nice set of rounds you could offer.

Made some modification to the feed ramp and the 22 TCM mag fed at 80% with one nose high and one not fully chambered. Big news is that the bolt hold open works. Fantastic! I'm going to work over some brass and do some reloading.

I didn't bring a TCM with for this range session but we've got a bunch out there and reports should be coming in soon as to how things are going. I wanted to focus my range time on the 357s to see if they are worth developing further.

Got a chance to do a bunch of 22 TCM testing, mostly with the 40 gr Armscor factory bullets and function with the Tok mags and our new M1 mag set ups all worked good. The round is not a perfect fit for either mag and get loose when loading over 15 rounds. We are doing some more testing on the M1 set up and will see if we can do a dedicated TCM set up because the BHO feature is so nice.
