Tim, I wanted to get into the shooting some of those big cast bullets with my 7.62X25 but I don't cast and wondered if you cast or bought your cast bullets? I remember a fellow named "Graywolff" that showed some super nice cast bullets on here but I was wondering if you did your own also?

GW is a master caster for sure! Yes, I also cast my own. Lee makes a great 300 blackout boolit. I'll send you some w/your barrel.

I really would appreciate that! I tried looking up commercial cast bullets in 30 caliber and really didn't see anything I liked. I've got to ask you about something you said in another post. You said "I run between 5.6 - 6.0 gr of AA #9 with the 180 + bullets, 6.5-7.0 of Lil Gun with the SSP180's, and 3 - 5 gr of Unique. All loads depending on bullets / barrel combo but you can drop 1 - 2 gr over the 300 BO because of higher efficiency." I've become a Unique junky because I like reduced powder charges and I really wanted to know if you used 3 to 5 grains of Unique under the SSP180 bullets. I've been working more with the short gas system barrel I got from you and I'm a little leery of trying that load of Unique under a 180gr jacketed bullet without more info. I feel a little safer with the cast bullets but the jacketed stuff worries me. This is the thread about the bullets and loads and you had some pictures of some cast bullets that were huge. 762x25tokarev.proboards.com/thread/186/question-7-62x25-carbine-setup

The tok with 180's at 1.8" and 3gr Unique puts you well under 1000 fps. 4g's is max at 1.8". Push them out to 2 - 2+" and you can stuff 5gr in there.

Tim, Is the 180 bullet you refer to a cast bullet or jacketed bullet? I have found the cast bullets I've use seem easy to push down a bore but the jacketed ones require more power to do the same thing. Also, with the 3 to 5 grains of unique would the action work in your short gas system or did you have manually operate it? I've been playing with Tite Group and seem to get good results but I've only tested with lighter bullets.

Thats the 180gr Hornady Jacket bullet. Runs on gas just fine.
