The 3/32 will get you started. You can also try lighter buffer and spring to test with out drilling.

Finally got the Upper finished. Stainless barrel has been blasted and duracoated matt black. The muzzle brake is one of those cheap AK-74 style ones made for 14mm threads, that I modified on my lathe alittle. Not shown is the 1/2" crush washer I opened up with a 9/16" drill to fit over the 14mm threads to time it. Now I just need to figure out the mag adapter... although I suppose I could go test fire it single shot to see if will lock the bolt back on an empty 5.56 magazine...

Successful test fire yesterday. With the semi-auto bolt carrier and standard carbine buffer and spring, it ejected spent casings out to the 4 o'clock position, and locked back on an empty AR mag about 90% of the time. I only fired about 40 rounds of S&B just sighting it in, single loading each round was getting tedious and I had a few other things to function test as well. Accuracy was very good, about 1.5 to 2" at 50 yards, and recoil was non existant, just a tad more than my .22 upper. I had my wife make a video with my phone, but you might get seasick watching it. Apaprently it didn't occur to her than you can't rotate the phone from portrait to landscape and back and forth while recording...
