Model1sales has the 5.45 bolts. I just ordered one and they said it would take about 3 weeks.

Anybody know if the 5.45 S&W bold will work? Also, isn't it the same as the 7.62x39 bolt?

S&W bolt will work and no the 7.62 bolt is not the same as the 5.45 bolt.

S&W bolt will work and no the 7.62 bolt is not the same as the 5.45 bolt. I thought the 5.45x39 was simply a necked down 7.62x39?

The base diameter is different between the two. 7.62x39=11.35mm 5.45x39=10mm 7.62x39: 5.45x39:

Does the 5.45 bolt have to be modified to work with the Tok conversion?

No the 5.45 bolt does not need to be modified. I use un-modified 5.45 bolts in both of my guns and they work great.

Hey guys, glad to be back, been on the road. I have not used any 5.45 bolts yet, still using up stock of std 5.56 bolts that we open up. Next order is definately going to be 5.45 tho. Got the new software up and running on the machining center and getting ready to run the next batch of adapters. What ammo is everyone using?

bulgarian and polish. about 4000-5000 rounds of bulgarian. It all ran good except one can. I have only fired a few mags of the polish and I think I like it better.

What does the modified bolt from Heavy Metal cost and what's the cost of the Model 1 5.45 bolt and S&W bolt (if they sell bolts)? Just trying to get an idea as to the best price.

We charge $75 for a 5.56 bolt that is opened up to take the Tok case. Have also been doing some research on the 5.45 bolts and some say the thicker rim spacing causes issues with the Tok. I have not tried one yet.
