Wow, May 19, 2015: this is redonkulus..... Since my last post, I've got an order of bolts and dies sets ready for the 35ARem conversion. All sitting on the desk waiting for the operator to show up...

Bump to the top for interest. What brand of bolts are these? Or, what is the bolt face recess depth?
I am closing in on just chambering my own barrel. My bench lathe is only 13 between centers, but I'm mostly interested in pistols anyway.
The "357 Gunner" and 358 MGP appear to be made with something like a 6.5G reamer, this would allow me to get a 6.5G reamer and bush the pilot to match bore. It would also allow easy brass by expanding the neck and mostly using the original shoulder, no fire form.
Now I understand the type 1 and type 2 Grendel or 7.62x39 bolt face recess measurements. I'd like to stick to type 2, or 0.136 bolt face recess.
Let me know, I'd like to get this party started. Its always nice to turn one project into funding the next......

I get my 7.62x39 "super bolts" from AR Performance and are standard .125 depth and are used to chamber our 35 ARem. We use 35 Remington reamers and short chamber to use 762x39 brass formed in modified 35 Remington dies that are included in our barrel / upper packages. Send me an email to Tim@thearguy.com and we can discuss pricing.

Doing two 35 ARem builds. Got the dies worked over and getting my gauges in order. I'm tempted to look at some of the neck bushing die sets for this build. It would be nice to be able to adjust the neck a bit on this build. This is still a great build.
