Thanks Strycnine In the pic I posted above, my follower is stamped right through with a sharp edge. Not good... Will get a couple 30 rounders in and see what they do.

I've been using an M1 carbine magazine setup for the little sabot project I've been working on and decided to try some of my other rounds in the magazine. The picture below is a couple of rounds that will fit easily and measure 1.67" COL. The round on the left uses a Nosler 125gr ballistic tip and the one on the right is a 110gr Barnes Tipped TSX bullet. I have not changed the follower yet because I only load 5 rounds. Just another use for the M1 carbine magazine adapter you're building. I crimp the necks to keep the bullets from shifting in the cartridge case.

Made some adjustments today and need to do a couple more. Need to do some work on the follower and may try to do a BHO, we'll see how it goes.

Got the program updated and loaded and we'll see what happens. Went with the old standard mag catch for the time being while we get the ramps and angles working together.

Ran a bunch or reloads through the 30 Carbine with our new adapter and a 30 round mag. I ran out of factory loads so I was using some Hornady 110 SJ reloads with the long soft nose and they are very sensitive to catching on anything. Even with these bullets, feeding was ok, with the occasional hang up. Had to open up the back of the mag feed lips for some carrier / bolt lug clearance. Will get some more 110 JRN and get some further testing in, but I think we are real close.

Ran some factory rounds with the 110 JSP and was getting some hang ups on the bottom leading edge of the chamber. The big round soft point dig right into the edge. The barrel extension lugs are ground like the Tokarev barrels so I think I'll do another barrel with a little more lug rise in it with a modified M4 type cut. Also going to take a look at the chamfer on the barrel and load up some JRN to see how it goes.

How are you doing the magazine catch -- something like your right or left side push button design on the magblock?

Old reliable, a slot for the AR mag catch. for now. Do you have to do anything to the AR magazine catch to go in far enough to actually engage the thinner M1 carbine magazine?

I'm doing the testing on one of the 0% lowers I built that has more travel on the stock AR Mag catch. The extra length of the 30 Carbine mag does not allow the same catch as the Tok so I could not "plug & play" with it.

Worked on the chamber chamfer and now get 100% feeding on the factory 30 Carbine upper and adapter combo. I didn't do anything extra on the chamber, I just didn't have enough when I chambered the barrel. I looked at some of the factory barrels I've got and their chamfers were a bit more generous than mine. Checked 3 different lowers for use with the stock AR mag catch and a slot cut into the carbine mags and the HM & Calvary Arms worked, the Colt Match Target did not. I have a batch of lower on oder and will check them out when they get here. Looking at out options again and have some ideas on the drawing board for a separate release. In the mean time, Rockin' On with the 30 Carbine

Did some full mag dumps using my reloads with the Hornady 110gr SJ bullet with the long soft lead nose. Feeding was 100%. Going to work on a catch modification today and get some adapters anodized.

Now I really like that magblock setup. I was wondering if the extended magcatch would work and you proved that. Granted you still have to cut the notch in the magazine but that's no big deal and I'll bet, if you had an M1 Carbine, those notched mags would work just fine in it. How far down the road do you figure these magblocks will be ready for sale?
