Any more info on how this is working out ? what kinda velocities are you able to pull, think it could be a decent Fur bearing/trapping/predator/calling gun ? my main focus is red and artic fox, ocasional coyote or lynx so nothing large.

Dan, I have not played with the 256WM since I got incolved with the sabots. The estimated velocity is 2400fps out of the 11.5" barrel. I would imagine that with a 70gr bullet out of an 18" barrel velocities would be up around 2700 to 2800 fps. I really don't know how explosive the Sierra plastic tip bullets are on small critters but then the bullets and powder loads could be changed to suit the job. I was under the impression that the people that were fur hunting went more for something in 17 caliber but what do I know -- I don't hunt for fur.
What type of rifle were you thinking about using?

I dunno exactly, maybe a two stamp silent and, maybe a pistol or his a regular old cadbine. It will be AR based though.

I forgot to post some info on my 256 WM carbine. I got a chrony and went to the range to check the velocities. The Average velocity using the 70gr Sierra bullet was 2460fps out of the 11.5" barrel with a high of 2489fps. I did some more loads and got an average of 2501fps but they seemed to be a bit on the hot side so I'm going back to the previous load -- need to save the brass. The chrony was placed 10 feet from the muzzle.
