That is super great news. Are the Uzi mags easy to find?
For those of us that only have Colt/Metalform mags -- with these mags work also?

Uzi mags have a notch below the AR magwell and I know CProducts dont have the uzi notch, just the ar mag catch slot. So if you have the AR slot or the Uzi slot, they will work.

Drawings almost done then its over to the machine code and loading into the machine. Sometimes its smooth, sometimes its not. Going to have to make a new jig for mounting so that will take some time. Looks like I better get off my arse and get to work....

Used stock 9mm mags to feed the new 22 Reed Express in our blow back upper. We are a bit away from a truly "dual purpose" adapter - one that can use stock mags in the DI or blow back operation, but this is a big step in the right direction with the 22 RE. Now I guess I have to build another 9mm BB to test it, or find a way to get a Tok shell into an Uzi mag..... Then again a 30 Luger would probably work too......

Working on the stock Uzi mag feed for the 22 Reed Express. Right now its hit n miss but I've only cycled by hand. We will load up some medium pressure rounds and play with the buffer combination and see if we can get this to feed reliably. Because of the neck on the 22 Reed Express case, the feed lips don't hit fully in the neck area and lets the round rock a bit. We'll play around with this and do one where I ramp the feed lips up a bit more to get better case contact. Added the ejector to the CUZI adapter. Cycling by hand ejects cases just fine. Next step is to add the Uzi Notch mechanism.......

What bullets are you using in those 22RE's in the Uzi mag?

Hornady 35gr VMax with the polymer tip sanded off.
Drawings heavily modified and getting reading for coding. Will knock out some TMAR's while I have that on the machine then start the debug process for the Uzi adapters. From my measurements, the Uzi mags are a bit shorter front - back than the Colt / CProducts not including the rib in the back for the mag catch. The Uzi adapter will be machined to take all mags with or with out the ribs at this point. The issue that will arise is having notched mags that use the AR catch and having to lock in the adapter. Good thing we have a fix for that already.
Speaking of 9mm - With all the hyper velocity hype about the 22 TCM, reading people's reviews it seems they are more impressed with the muzzle flash than the performance. We are doing some testing and will post over on the Reloading Page.

Need to work on feeding from Uzi mags for the 22 Reed Express without affecting the function from the 9mm. Just finished a 9mm barrel and will get that upper together for comparison testing. The small bullet of the 22 RE lets the round push nose down too far so playing with the adapter ramps to help that out without having to chamfer the face of the 22 RE barrel any more than I have to.
Modified the feed ramp and hand feedling the 22 RE looks good. Will take the 22 Reed Express and the new 9mm out for testing.........

Tested the modified feed ramp on the Uzi adapter with factory PMC FMJ rounds and it worked fine. Will run the 9mm cast and JHP next chance I get.. Tried a number of different 22 Reed Express rounds from JFN, cast RN, and the custom JHP. Everything fed 100% so now to get some parts cut. Still working on the drawings, jig, and mag catch assembly.....

Started program work but still a long way to go. Just got crazy busy so we'll see how much we can squeeze in here.

Dusted this off today and hopefully will have an extended stay when I'm home next month to make some chips.

This is our top adapter priority and have a couple of jobs to get knocked out before I can get on this. With the 22 Uzi in development, this is more important than ever.

Added the Uzi mag catch to the Cuzi adapter and it works. Now to get the adapter body modified to look better. Like I stated in the other post, I've bought three 9mm adapters from PSA, AMM Arms, and Promag with prices ranging from $50 - $95 shipped. Kinda hard for me to compete with them but I'll take a look, Hahn is still selling them for $200. Plus the fact we've done a mod that can use a 9mm blow back mag in our gas upper. Kinda cool and looking into making it a bit more commercial if you will.

Going over dwgs for the stock Uzi mag adapter. Got another old mill running and maybe it will pay nicer with program updates than the Bridgeport.... time will tell. This thing needs to happen....
