I've had one of these for a few years and use it to (used to when you could get primers ) blast off 7.62x39. Never put too much effort into it, just a fun blaster. Friend had one that needed some work so he asked if I could take a look. Got it apart the other day and doing some research on cleaning things up. Putting a FH on the end, going to clean up the trigger a bit, then parkerize.

I've got one of those paratrooper versions and it's fun to shoot but you know the trigger feels and how the accuracy is with milsurp stuff. My eyes have gotten bad so I kinda need scopes on everything so I got one of those scope mounts where you drill and tap the receiver and mount the scope there. The one thing about the paratrooper version is it takes AK mags and I got a bunch of what I think are 20 round Yugo mags and they work really nice. I had a standard SKS at one time and sold it and one thing it had was a bolt stop when the mag went empty -- the paratrooper version doesn't have that -- wish it did -- I can't manually lock the bolt back like when the range goes cold.

His has the AK conversion which I'll have to try on mine. Doing some trigger work and makes a huge improvement.
